It's like a TV channel monitoring system: if you don't check the signal path, you won't know there's a problem until the channel goes dark. With solar, the equivalent is an open bond that shows up only after your first fault current.
Ask how the system bonds module frames to rails. Is it an intentional penetration? Is the grounding clip listed for your panel brand? These details matter more than the rail's weight rating.

Transparent pricing is a trust signal. It tells me the vendor has a handle on their own costs and isn't planning to find profit in change orders. When a supplier hides fees but says "we'll work it out later," I add a 10% contingency to the budget. If the price is too low, something got left out. Usually it's the parts you can't see.

Set the RMA process in advance. Put return windows, replacement lead times, and re-inspection costs in the purchase agreement. If the vendor refuses to put the quality claim process in writing, they're not ready for a quality-focused buyer.
Granted, this step takes time at the front end. But it saves the conversation you don't want to have in the middle of an install.
